Support the officers of the garden grove police department by promoting a high level of commitment to public safety and professionalism within the ranks of the department through education, legal support, benefits support, and community outreach. In additon, provide assitance to the members or dependents in the case of sickness, accident, distress or death.

Legal service support:the garden grove police association provides legal services through the peace officers research association of california (porac), which has 24 hours/7 day a week emergency legal response and provides legal coverage for its participants. This service is aimed to support the members by providing legal outreach in a timely manner and with affordable costs.
Membership benefits:the garden grove police association provides member benefits in the form of services intended to assist police officers in managing the mental and physical challenges faced in their jobs. The principal member benefits provided are access to a center for stress reduction, as well as a gym facility for members' use. Approximately 176 members avail themselves of these benefits.
Various community and other events for the benefit of association members.
