Center for Black Health and Equity (CBHE) Advancing Health Equity in Tobacco Nation: primary role is to coordinate and facilitate coalition-building activities, including organizing community trainings using the Health Justice training series, recruiting diverse stakeholders and public health advocates, hosting in-person coalition meetings, and coordinating advocacy events like No Menthol Sunday. The organization will also provide regular progress reports and work closely with Making it Counts program trainers to build local capacity for tobacco control and health equity advocacy in the Gary, Indiana community.
Drug Free Communities Grant-GNS serves as the designated administrator of the DFC grant for the City of Gary, Indiana In this administrative capacity, Gary Neighborhood Services is responsible for overseeing the implementation of community-based substance abuse prevention initiatives, managing grant compliance and reporting requirements, and coordinating collaborative efforts among coalition partners throughout Gary.
