The GFO's purpose is to educate, to record, and to preserve genealogical and historical records and information.
Programs

The GFO holds numerous classes and workshops during the year to teach people how to trace their own family histories. Conducted a week-long conference online with 19 educational sessions. Hosted over 100 special-interest group meetings throughout the year. Published a quarterly genealogical journal.
Conducted research for patrons. In 2022-2023 we completed over 100 research requests, not counting unpaid research for members.
