Genesis Joy House Homeless Shelter Inc

As part of the path to independence, Genesis Joy House equips participants with financial literacy education tailored to women re-entering stable housing. Each participant follows a structured savings plan designed to help them accumulate funds for their own living space after graduation from the program. The curriculum includes budgeting, credit repair, banking basics, and long-term financial planning. We Implemented individualized savings plans for 100% of residents; Conducted 55 financial literacy workshops;Supported participants in saving for post-shelter housing.

Understanding that long-term recovery requires more than shelter, Genesis offers holistic wellness services including physical health education, mental health support, emotional counseling, and life skills development. This approach supports the whole person; physically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually; helping participants rebuild their lives and avoid recidivism. Life skills training includes conflict resolution, nutrition, wellness, time management, and job readiness. We delivered over 60 life skills and health workshops in 2024;Partnered with 25 community organizations to provide healthcare screenings, wellness classes, and counseling; Achieved a 90% graduation rate from the program with participants securing employment or stable housing.
