Mission

The professional organization for academic laboratories to collaborate on biomarker testing development and projects to advance personalized molecular diagnostics and patient care.

Programs

2 programs

Research projects: members from academic molecular diagnostic laboratories who have the interest, capacity, and expertise to participate in genomics testing conduct research activities. Surveys for feasibility and qualification of member labs in the organization were developed and launched. Twelve member labs that qualified were potentially interested in characterizing the methods of testing and analysis of various mutations (biomarkers) in non-small cell lung cancer cases that will be retrospectively compiled and analyzed in aggregate among the qualifying laboratories. Protocol development was initiated by two principal research investigators with the goal of implementing the research in 2023.

Expenses: $66K

Membership dues: as a professional network of molecular laboratory directors at academic organizations, membership dues support the activities and programming developed by members for members. The benefits of membership include: (1)access and participation in recurring monthly or annual virtual meetings and in an annual in-person lunch program, (2)group purchasing power in cost-sharing for bulk purchases, as well as access to negotiated discounts from vendors and suppliers, and (3)engagement and collaboration opportunities in research and academic projects that lead to scholarly work.
