The george young recreational complex is organized exclusively for charitable purposes, including, for the purpose of lessening the burden on government, to provide public recreational facilities through the operation of a recreational complex for the benefit of the public. During the tax year the complex continued its recreational activities and its indoor swimming program. It continued to sponsor cross country ski programs in the winter and hiking and golf related activities in the summer. It offers golf and driving range facilities open to the public at low or reduced costs with free golf for those under the age of 18. During the year it also offered four free community events: halloween, lunch with santa, winterfest and the easter egg hunt. The complex also offers a free meeting place for fellow not for profit orzanizations.

The complex provides a daily fee and annual fee golf course and driving range open to the public.

The Complex has opened its historic log cabin overlooking Chicagoan Lake to the public for overnight rental. The historic cabin was the Summer home of George and Margaret Young. The cabin is located on the grounds of the complex. Rental of the cabin allows visitors to enjoy the other recreational activities available at the complex.

The complex provides a swimming pool open to the public and charges a small daily or annual fee for such usage. However during the majority of 2024 the pool was closed for repairs.

The complex provides groomed ski trails open to the public for their use. Those who wish to use the trails but have no ski equipment may rent cross country skis for a minimal daily rental fee. During the summer months the complex has mountain bikes for rental use to ride various trails in the complex.
