The Georgia Association for Play Therapy (GAPT) is a state branch chartered by the Association for Play Therapy, Inc. (APT) with a mission to promote the value of play, play therapy, and credentialed play therapists by advancing the development of mental health of all people including emotional, psychological, and social well-being. As a diverse, equitable, and inclusive professional organization, we embrace: 1) Increased appreciation of play and play therapy by the public; 2) Ethical practice of play therapy informed by research, education, and training; and 3) Recognition of education grounded in seminal and historically significant play therapy theories
