To foster the educational aspects that German ancestry had on Missouri and the city of St. Louis, we aim to educate the public about German culture and the social impact of German heritage on various domains, including the arts, sciences, industry, farming, food, laws, architecture, and education.German immigrants have significantly influenced Missouris history and culture. Here are some key points:Economic Impact: German immigrants played a crucial role in shaping Missouris economy. They were not destitute peasants but included professionals, skilled craftsmen, and unskilled workers. Carpenters, coopers, shoemakers, tailors, bakers, brewers, stonemasons, and bricklayers contributed to the citys growth and diversity.Settlements: St. Louis attracted a large number of German immigrants during the 19th century. By 1880, most Germans coming to St. Louis were displaced farm laborers or urban workers from northern Germany. They settled throughout the city, taking advantage of social mobility
