Transplant mentors program - the organization's transplant mentors are trained volunteers who offer encouragement and support to those waiting for a transplant, new transplant recipients and their families. Since program inception in 2009, trained transplant mentors have been provided to 772patients and families from 23 states, including living donors and caregivers. In 2020, the program expanded to include a total of 39 transplant centers around the country that have agreed to refer patients. Thirty-seven transplant patients were mentored in 2020. The organization also provides online resources for transplant patients and their families at www.giftdonor.org.
