To acquire and maintain buildings and property for preservation purposes or for use as a community entertainment and arts center for the performing arts, educational and recreational facilities to serve the community of springfield, greene county, missouri, and to engage in any and all types of activities not prohibited by law which shall promote and foster artistic, educational, and social activities of the general public.
