Mission
The purpose of the Gilmer County Genealogical Society is to collect, preserve and share genealogical data on Gilmer and surrounding North Central Georgia counties. Our membership is open to anyone interested in genealogy.
Programs

We have collected a large number of local records and resources which are maintained in the Genealogy Research Center at the library. A large number of family histories and books on other Georgia counties have been donated and purchased by the society over the span of several years. The Genealogy Research Center also has materials on other states and several computer data bases including Ancestry.com. Each year we offer opportunities to learn new genealogical research techniques.
