Mission

Girl scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.

Programs

2 programs

Camps and workshops: whether through day camp, resident camp, troop mini-camp, or family camp, at girl scout camp girls are given first-rate opportunities to learn and explore, expand their horizons, and have unforgettable fun with friends old and new-all under the guidance of caring, trained adults committed to helping them unleash their remarkable leadership potential. Both girl scout members and youth non-members enjoy the great outdoors while taking advantage of amazing opportunities at our three camp properties in bridgton, baxter state park, and readfield-that span over 800 acres of land. Girl scouting in the great outdoors builds female leaders-girl scout camp helps girls develop important life skills and positive characteristics including development of their sense of self, positive values, challenge- seeking skills, healthy relationships, and leadership skills. Girl scout camp is full of endless possibilities-our goal is that every girl who wants to, can enjoy the great outdoors and take advantage of our camp and outdoor programs.

Girl and adult programs and workshops: girl scouts of maine provides the opportunity to participate in our girl scout leadership experience in a variety of ways: as a member of a traditional troop led by trained volunteer leaders, as an individually registered girl scout guided by an adult mentor, and through council or program partner led activities, events, and travel opportunities. Adult programming includes training opportunities to support girl scouting, including special volunteer event opportunities. All programming is built on our four core program pillars: stem (science, technology, engineering, and math)-through high-quality multiyear programs in engineering, computer science, and outdoor stem, girls become increasingly interested, confident, and competent in stem. Outdoor-progressive outdoor programs for girls of all ages. Girls experience nature, build skills, and take action in their communities as environmental stewards. Life skills-through life skills programming, girls enhance their skills across topics such as civic engagement, healthy living, communication skills, financial literacy, and global citizenship. Entrepreneurship-girls explore ways they can change the world by learning business skills, providing them a variety of entrepreneurship opportunities, including social entrepreneurship.
