The Education is Your Passport Program provides educational and financial assistance for students from Pre-K through adult college learners. Its annual scholarship initiative, the Education is Your Passport Scholarship Program, supports underserved high school seniors and non-traditional college-bound students. In 2024, the program awarded 18 college scholarships, including five cash scholarships totaling $10,000. All recipients received a backpack filled with supplies, a laptop, a bed-in-a-bag set, and other college essentials. In total, Giving Hope and Help (GH&H) provided over $60,000 in cash, resources, and in-kind donations to scholarship recipients. Since the program's inception, a total of 159 scholarships have been awarded. In 2004, GH&H hosted its annual Operation Backpack event in partnership with the City of Kansas City, Missouri. The event was a major success, distributing approximately 3,000 backpacks with school supplies and online hotspot access. Additional distributions included 70 tablets, 10,000 period products, gun locks, hand sanitizers, masks, toiletries, and food-benefiting over 700 families in the community.
In 2023, Giving Hope & Help (GH&H) launched "A Way of Escape from Domestic Violence," a life-saving initiative designed to equip, empower, and provide women with the means to escape domestic violence and live free from abuse. The program offers financial assistance and resources to help women with transportation, rent, and utilities, supporting their transition to safety and stability. In 2024, GH&H assisted 30 women through this initiative, helping them build new lives free from violence. The majority of these women were directly referred by domestic violence agencies across Missouri, demonstrating GH&H's strong partnerships and deep commitment to breaking the cycle of abuse
The LOVE Bags 4 Cancer initiative was launched in February 2015 in memory of Founder and President Jessica McClellan's late niece, who courageously battled cancer for six years. Created to honor her legacy, the initiative uplifts hospitalized cancer patients in celebration of Valentine's Day and Mother's Day. Each patient receives a LOVE Bag filled with thoughtful items such as a gift card, hand sanitizer, notepad, pen, tissues, word search book, blanket, small gifts, and an inspirational greeting card. Since its inception, over 750 cancer patients have been inspired and encouraged through this initiative. Giving Hope and Help partners with hospitals across the Kansas City metropolitan area in both Kansas and Missouri to deliver these special gifts of comfort and hope. In 2024, GH&H distributed LOVE Bags to more than 50 recipients, continuing its mission to spread love, dignity, and encouragement to those fighting cancer.
