Car gifting program 2024: also, we repair donated cars to give away. As of january 2024 until december 2024, giving words has given away 10 cars to mothers in need. Currently, we accept private donations of cars, but we have created a partnership with carter myers automotive, a business that houses over 28 virginia dealerships. Not only have they repaired cars for us when a certain dealership, such as subaru, was necessary, but they also have assisted our mothers with wise purchases and plan to help us in the acquisition of affordable, but reliable used cars for our increased demand. Every car that we give away is inspected, detailed, and thoroughly checked over by an auto mechanic. This year, a cma subaru dealership, in richmond chose to sponsor giving words in their "subaru share the love" event in december 2024. For every subaru sold that dealership, they will donate 300 to giving words.
Financial resource program 2024: we recognize that all families incur irregular expenses that demand additional resources; single mothers often do not have that cushion. We strive to make connections with community businesses, local churches, and other non-profits so the mothers do not have to figure out where to go next. If we can connect them to a resource that is already available, like a local food bank or social services, we do so. If that service is unavailable or underrepresented, we find a method to meet that need. This past year, we gave away school supplies, diapers, and wipes, hosted a cookie and craft party, provided free lay and professional counseling, and offered free clothing, furniture, and household items to mothers and their children through local consignment shops and private donations. For all these services, we pay for them or receive them free of charge.
Student give back program 2024: since this program started, we have been able to give back to the school systems that serve our single mothers. We have had the opportunity to give 5 cars to students as well as gift 10 craftsman tool kits to students as well. Responses from our mothers 1.these times are very hard. I'm eternally grateful for giving words and all they do to help single mothers like me thrive and bounce back. Just knowing i'm not alone & that i have a great group of people praying for me and pushing me through has meant so much to me. 2.i want everyone to know how giving words helped me and my 10 year old daughter at the time of need. I only have one vehicle and it needed a lot of work done to it. I couldn't afford to fix it because i am a single mother taking care of everything. I called them for help and they put my car in the shop and had it fixed for me. I was so blessed i want to thank giving words for being there for me and my daughter. They are awesome. 3.giving words has meant so much to me. Being a newly single mom has been so scary and hard for me. Giving words came and brought back more confidence and gave me more courage to simply believe. Importantly it's caused me just to have a little more faith and not to panic. And to truly trust god with my whole life. Today i have more courage that rebuilding from the ground up isn't so bad. Everything takes time." 4.i was a single homeless mother struggling with making ends meet after coming out of a very toxic violent domestic relationship. I ran to the shelter for help, i had hit rock bottom and lost my job, my car, my place and struggling with addiction. I decided that enough was enough. I'm in 90 days of recovery, and i ended up reaching out to local churches for help. Giving words ended up donating me and my son a car and it changed my whole life. I got my life back and in order and got a new place and a new job. I have ever since been even stronger in my sobriety and giving my life to christ. I am proof that no matter how hard life may get for any mothers out here, you can pull yourself out. God carried me through so much and i guess the reason why i only saw my footprints in the sand was because he was carrying me the whole time trust god, trust the process and trust that his workers like giving words will be there to help thank you so much giving words, you guys are truly his workers of faith may you be blessed tenfold 5.i reached out to giving words because i was in a situation where my vehicle was practically deemed unsafe. After losing my husband tragically in october of 2024 i was out of work and had no way of getting to a job to be able to pay for my mortgage, bills and necessary items for my children and myself. Allison and eddie helped me through the process and gave me hope now that i have received such a blessing from giving words, i am able to have reliable transportation to care for myself and my children. If not for this program i wouldn't have been able to get to work to pay my mortgage and i would still be in foreclosure of my home. My children and i would like to thank everyone who helped in this process we are eternally grateful.
