Giwayen Matas mission is to celebrate our lives as women and uplift our communities and our planet, while perpetuating the cultures of Africa and the Afrikan Diaspora through the study, creation, teaching, and presentation of artistic media including dances, rhythms, songs, poetry, and prose around the world.

2) DANCE CLASS: Giwayen Mata's bi-weekly in person community dance classes serve an average of 41 attendees per session and a total in person audience of 522 between June and December 2022. All of our classes provide live instruction and musical accompaniment for lessons in West African dance classes. Students range in age from 5-80+ years of age and represent various levels of experience from beginners to professional performers. Expenses per session total range from $315-$435 per session to include instructors, class managers, live musicians, and facility management. The expenses for Giwayen Mata's weekly virtual dance classes that were held between January and May 2022 totaled between $180-$280 per session to include instructors, live musicians, and live stream management. REVENUE $14,025.
