Glencoe Band and Color Guard Boosters supports our directors efforts to inspire the next generation of musicians by driving parent and community engagement via critical financial and volunteer support.

Programs

Winter Guard: Supported 29 high school students from Glencoe and neighboring high schools with 1300 volunteer hours building props fitting and maintaining uniforms chaperoning competitions transporting equipment and fundraising. Additional support for Youth Guard program serving 18 students aged 4-12 providing high school participants leadership and mentorship opportunities. Operational costs per student are $738 for instructional staff; $404 for uniforms and props; $65 for show entry fees. The Glencoe Winterguard were the 2025 Varsity Northwest Association for Performing Arts Silver Medalists. The combined Glencoe-Hillsboro High School JV Winterguard were the 2025 Northwest Association for Performing Arts Champions. This ensemble has a longstanding history with success at the regional and national level.

Winter Percussion: Supported 24 students from Glencoe and Hillsboro High School in our Winter Percussion with 500 volunteer hours chaperoning competitions transporting equipment providing meals and fundraising. Operational costs per student are $643 for instructional staff; $423 for uniforms props and equipment maintenance; $48 for show entry fees; meals and team building are donated. Some of these students play percussion year round while others play woodwind or brass instruments in other ensembles. The combined Glencoe-Hillsboro High School Indoor Percussion ensemble were the 2025 Winterguard International and Northwest Association for Performing Arts Champions. This ensemble has a record of success within the NWAPA circuit earning awards for their overall creativity as well as visual and musical excellence.

Supported 125 talented musicians in Jazz Band Concert Band and Wind Ensemble at Glencoe High School in advocating for music education via community performances including pep band for the high school football and basketball teams; providing accompaniment to school Musical production; several local community performances including a local mall the Hillsboro Community Art Walk a Valentines Day Jazz fundraiser and varied school events from concerts at elementary and middle schools to the graduation ceremony. 33 individuals and ensembles competed in the Oregon Music Education Association Solo & Ensemble event with 4 individuals and ensembles qualifying for State Solo & Ensemble. 12 students participated in local and regional honor bands. The audition-only Wind Ensemble was a 2025 Oregon School Activities Association A 6A Participant this marks the continued success of our premier program which earned state-qualifying scores in 2022 2024 and 2025.
