The ethnic self help - general program designed to support refugees & asylees find their way in this new country. Case managers (cm) complete a self sufficiency assessment to determine status in 25 domain areas including basic needs of food, shelter & employment, and work with clients to set goals leading to citizenship. Services include support as dhs navigators, work with local schools, esl & citizenship classes, food distribution and acculturalization workshops. This grant is open to all refugees and other allowable individuals based on orr criteria. Expects to serve 300 clients over a 3-year period.

The human trafficking grant supports survivors of human trafficking and provides education to organizations to better recognize and address human trafficking in the community.

Expenses: $115K

The indiviual development account program supports financial understanding and growth through training to understand us banking, taxations, employment rights, fair wages, credit reports, credit cards and all other associated financial education and services. Project encourages participants to save money through a match program up to $2000 for individuals and $4000 for families with funds to be used for vehicle purchase, home purchase/rent assistance, build self-employment, or cover educational costs. This grant focuses on the afghan parolees and expects to serve 250 clients over the 3-year period.

The career program developed is to support a career path to better wages and employment opportunities. Services include evaluation of any current certificate or degrees, esl classes, job readiness & resume completion, offers training for a certified nurse assistant (cna) and child development associate (cda) prerequisite for working in the early childhood field, financial support for other education programs, financial review & budgeting, job search, etc. This grant is not ethniciyt specific serve 250 clients over the 3-year period.

A womens chamber was started to amplify the organizations fundraising ability and create a space for women to engage with each other and create a positive impact in the community
