Mission

To use the performing arts to equip african american girls with skills that nurture their individual growth and inspire them to use their talents for positive change in their families, schools and communities.

Programs

2 programs

Stories on stage is our co-ed program in partnership with chicago public schools, other public-school districts and other community-based organizations. We worked with 72 teens ages 14-19 teaching performing arts & social/emotional skills. Those youth stages online performances & created original poetry & skits.

Expenses: $12K

The global theatre collaborative is our community theatre youth and adult performance companies. Youth who excel in the two other programs are invited to join the youth company and be the public face of global girls. Adults are restricted from community, trained and selected for our adult company. They perform out theatre series and are booked to perform for other agencies and organizations. Both groups created virtual presentations which can be viewed on our youtube page.
