Programs
1 program
Honduras: Roatan Volunteer Pediatric Clinic and Public Hospital Program in Roatan Honduras: a fellowship program for recent Honduran medical school graduates providing them with a 6 to 12 month term or engagement to help provide pediatric and maternal medical care at the Global Healing Pediatric Clinic and the Roatan Public Hospital. This fellowship also helps the new graduate physician get hired in the Honduran medical system or obtain a post graduate residency. The fellows also help with orientation and collaboration with our volunteer physicians and students. We also provided funding for a Honduran pediatrician to manage the volunteer pediatric clinic, purchased critical medical supplies including an AED, infant warmers, pediatric clinic supplies and infant phototherapy equipment. Dr Eric Scher and RN Barbara Stowe made 4 volunteer trips to Roatan and ER physician volunteer from UC Davis, Pediatric resident volunteer from Georgetown University and UCSF pediatric nurse all volunteered with Global Healing in Roatan at the Public Hospital.
