Programs

3 programs

Membership: the giin membership network provides a platform for a diverse, global community of approximately 440 investors and key stakeholders to deepen engagement with impact investing by connecting with peers, and sharing experiences and lessons learned. Giin members include asset owners, asset managers, and service providers that are active in developed and emerging markets and target a range of issue areas or impact themes.

Expenses: $2.3M

Research and impact lab: with a focus on bringing critical market intelligence and practice insights to the market, the giin produces influential and high-impact research that helps build a stronger evidence base for impact investing, reduce opacity in the market, support investor decision-making, and advance the practice of impact investing. To date, the giin has produced over five dozen cutting edge reports distributed as public goods, including the flagship annual impact investor survey that serves the as go-to 'state of the market' report. Additionally, the giin impact lab engages in research and development of impact intelligence tools to help impact investors make sense of their impact performance outcomes.

Expenses: $1.4M

Other program services include the following:iris & impact measurement and management: the giin works to enable sound practice in impact measurement and management by managing iris +, a catalog of generally accepted performance metrics that impact investors can use to measure social and environmental success. The giin also develops resources for impact investors seeking to build or strengthen their impact measurement strategy.capital mobilization: the giin's capital mobilization program aims to inspire asset owners to voluntarily integrate impact investing into their portfolio in a systematic manner. To do this, the program builds the case for impact investing and develops knowledge resources (e.g., guides, briefs, etc.) to help interested investors learn how to develop an integrated approach to impact investing. The program engages asset owners, globally, providing resources and educational opportunities. Training: the giin's training program is responsible for creating a global educational curriculum that drives professional impact investment practice excellence. Operating principles for impact management: launched in 2019, the operating principles for impact management offers a framework for the design and implementation of impact management systems, ensuring that impact considerations can be voluntarily integrated throughout the investment lifecycle (the impact principles). In 2022, the giin became the host of the impact principles.
