Global justice center (gjc) is an international human rights organization with consultative status to the united nations that uses international law to achieve gender equality and dismantle systems of oppression. Utilizing research, analyses, and partnerships, gjc strives to ensure equal protection of the law for women and girls around the world.

Fighting for sexual and reproductive rights(see schedule o for additional information.)fighting for sexual and reproductive rights1. Filed an amicus brief to the united states supreme court in the case idaho v. United states, challenging idaho's near-total abortion ban as a human rights violation that undermined the right to life, health, freedom from torture, and more.2. Delivered a submission to the un special rapporteur on torture regarding abortion as protected and rehabilitative medical care for victims of sexual violence in conflict.3. Organized a webinar that marked both the 75th anniversary of the universal declaration of human rights and the 50th anniversary of the helms amendment, a united states foreign policy that restricts foreign aid funding of abortion care. The panel focused on the united states and its relationship to the human right to reproductive healthcare.4. Collaborated with longtime partner ipas to endorse and promote a congressional resolution on abortion as a human right and supported the introduction of the resolution in washington, d.c.

Published and organized a joint letter and series of legal briefs ahead of a united nations sixth committee debate on the draft crimes against humanity treaty in october 2023, urging un member states to focus on several key issues to ensure a gender-progressive, survivor-centric, and intersectional treaty.2. Organized four events during the annual assembly of states parties to the international criminal court that included discussions on the draft crimes against humanity treaty.3. Spearheaded a joint statement ahead of an april 2024 resumed session of the sixth committee calling for the draft treaty to be gender-competent and advanced to negotiations.4. Hosted a reception to foster dialogue between state representatives, legal experts, and activists on the value of moving to negotiations on the draft crimes against humanity treaty.5. Hosted a workshop during the commission on the status of women that explored gender justice proposals in the draft crimes against humanity treaty.6. Met with ivorian civil society activists in abidjan to discuss the crimes against humanity treaty initiative.
