Global Village Institute

Working with the Commonwealth of Nations, Common Earth, Project NOAH, Ecosystem Restoration Camps and others, GVI is building robust social structures, economies, and ecologies centered upon carbon drawdown by natural means. We call this program the Carbon Cool Lab. In 2024, this program included remote participation in numerous international conferences, research on non-agricultural applications for sequestered carbon, and the development of prototype cooperative enterprise hubs for indigenous and refugee rural communities in Belize, Dominican Republic, Mexico and Panama.

In partnership with Global Ecovillage Network, Permaculture Institute of North America, and Gaia University, the Institute educates international students and transfers technologies through an immersion pedagogy of ecovillage living, classroom activity, and hands-on skill-building exercises, together with workshops, lectures, practical demonstrations, publications, and outreach on six continents. In 2024, GVI provided public lectures and workshops through international webinars and podcasts and produced numerous publications and course materials.
