Golden retriever news: 2024 accomplishments: provided a written media for educational information on the conformation of the golden retriever, better performance in rally and agility as well as hunt tests, and a national place to showcase dogs of outstanding performance. It also allowed all member clubs to discuss their club's activities and highlights. 2025 goals: to continue to bring in depth educational information on the history, development, proper conformation, and training of the golden retriever and to allow the placement of ads for goldens and kennels showing accomplishments as well as dogs standing to stud and dams and their whelp. A national forum providing information on all aspects of the golden retriever.

Committee activities: 2024 accomplishments: created the upland hunt test ad hoc committee to review the feasability of grca recognizing spaniel upland titles of junior, senior and master hunter (jhu, shu, and mhu). If grca were to accept these titles, it might have a significant impact on membership. The golden retriever reproduction bank application for 501c3 status was significantly delayed and the committee decided to rename the organization to golden retriever preservation foundation in order to move the application forward more quickly. The purpose has not changed -- to encourage owners to preserve the lines of golden retrievers for the future and prevent the total loss of historically significant lines. 2025 goals: upland hunt test ad hoc will make a final recommendation for the inclusion or not of the spaniel upland titles. The golden retriever preservation foundation will get approval as a 501c3 corporation and begin the process of formalizing procedures, advertising the foundation, and acquiring samples for storage.

On-line store: 2024 accomplishments: allowed members to register for several health clinics including heart and eyes and to register for several social events such as top 20 and various welcome dinners. In addition for the first time the store provided on site merchandise at the hunt test and field trials which promoted a greater sense of inclusion in the club for those activities. 2025 goals: the store is used as a tool for members to registor for health clinics, sign-up for social events and for clubs and individuals to sponsor trophies and information banners at the annual grca national speciality. Education: 2024 accomplishments: hosted seminars in the following areas -- breeder/member, field and judges. All three areas held seminars with the express intent of furthering the attendees knowledge of the breed, the breed standard according to the american kennel club, and training techniques as well as discussions about the performance criteria in certain events. 2025 goals: to continue to provide relevant seminars to increase knowledge of the golden retriever and its development and training in all areas in which a golden retriever is found.
