Good News Arts is a community arts space and gallery that collaborates with artists and community to provide contemporary arts and education that is affordable, accessible, and equitable. In addition to weekly community events and workshop, Good News Arts also host an youth after school arts program and a youth summer camp that is free to kids.
Programs

After School Arts serves youth ranging from kindergarten to 8th grade in weekly arts education for 1-2 hours each week during the spring and fall of each school year. This program provides all materials and snacks to all youth involved and cost only $5 to register each child. Classes are taught by local professional artists and instruction ranges to include drawing, ceramics, sculpture, mixed media, photography, printmaking, and more. Each session (fall and springs sessions) serves anywhere from 30-45 youth. Arts education workshops serve all ages and ranged from 3 hour workshops to multi week classes. Good News Arts hosted more than 40 workshops and arts classes in 2024 and hired five artists to teach those classes. Each workshop hosted 4-10 students.
In 2024 Good News Arts hosted 7 art exhibitions of local and regional artists sharing the work of more than 13 artists plus a youth art exhibition. Each exhibition included an opening or closing reception free and open to the public which served a range of 10-30 people. About half of the exhibitions included special workshops or artist talks which also served 5-20 people per event. Our gallery was open to the public 4 days of each week and saw visitor number ranging between 5-35 people per exhibition.
