In 2023/2024, career development services (cds) provided services to 10,294 individuals in our 16-county service area through our job training and placement programs. Our 23 goodwill job connections provided the following services: resume development workshops, job search and placement assistance, computer training workshops, referrals to other agency resources, job development with area employers, posting of job fairs and recruitment opportunities, job candidate prescreening for employers, criminal background checks and referrals to goodwill training programs. Giumsc also offered industry-specific, certified training programs to job seekers: advancement in motion pictures, cma, cna, cdl, cyber security, dental assistant, digital skills, drone, food service, forklift, heavy equipment, information technology, medical coding, osha, phlebotomy, power line, real estate, and welding. Each of the 10,294 people served participated in at least one (and generally more) of the services we provide.
BUSINESS SERVICES GENERATES REVENUE TO SUPPORT OUR MISSION SERVICES AND PROVIDES LONG-TERM EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR GOODWILL ASSOCIATES, INCLUDING HEALTH AND RETIREMENT BENEFITS, PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES AND POTENTIAL FOR CAREER ADVANCEMENT. Additionally, Business Services supported Goodwill stores with production support, cleaning and groundskeeping services, employing approximately 15 people. Business services began an electronics recycling program in which old electronics are refurbished and sold online and in stores. At this time, all franchises (restaurant, window cleaning and in-home care) have been dissolved.
