Programs
1 program
Community programs: the independent living program is focused on assisting youth who are, or were, in a court-ordered placement to become self sufficient adults. These services include educational assistance, employment assistance, life skills training, housing assistance and transitional plans. Community programs: the wendy's wonderful kids program provides every state in the nation with at least one child specific adoption recruiter. This recruiter works alongside the state case worker to help find permanent family connections for youth in foster care. This includes facilitating adoptions, legal guardianships and safe family re-unification. The program is funded by grant proceeds from wendy's restaurant foundation. Community programs: the senior community service employment program (scsep) is a community service and work-based job training program for older americans. Authorized by the older americans act, the program provides training for low-income, unemployed seniors. Scsep participants gain work experience in a variety of community service activities at non-profit and public facilities, including schools, hospitals, day-care centers, and senior centers. Participants work an average of 20 hours a week and are paid the highest of federal, state or local minimum wage. This training serves as a bridge to unsubsidized employment opportunities for participants.
