Mission
1.1 Primo Italiano Lodge 2800 is a fraternal organization that promotes the culture, tradition, language, legacy and contributions of Italian Americans. We encourage the active participation of our membership in the political, social and civic life of our community through a variety of activities. Locally, the most visual of those activities is the annual awarding of higher education scholarships to one or two high school seniors of Italian descent and the lodge's contributions to area charitable organizations. The participating high school senior must submit an essay describing the meaning of their Italian Heritage. A panel of lodge members reviews the essays for content and grammar, then recommend to the lodge as a whole their recommendation, where a vote for the winning essay(s) is made. These scholarship(s) and charitable contributions are principally funded by donations, the lodge's sponsorship of the local Italian Festival and small games of chance.
