Hero program: focus of the program is to work in the inner city neighborhoods with the most economically disadvantaged pet owners to help educate them about appropriate pet ownership and assist them with improving the level of care they provide their pets. Efforts involve providing food, shelter and other resources as well as transportation for spay/neuter appointments.

The behavior and training program adds to the quality of life for pets and their families through public classes, staff and volunteer training, enrichment programs for shelter residents, and behavioral support after adoption.
