Greater East Texas Community Action Program

Education services-provided through head start program for childcare, education and support services for children ages 0 to 5. The program assists in the total development of the child through health, nutrition, education and parent involvement. Services were provided for 541 prekindergarten age children.

Other client assistance-various programs provided social services to low income individuals and families. Service delivery through the mobile office unit meant the ability to provide emergency relief services to households affected by natural disasters and routine assistance to households in counties where there is not an outreach office. The rise program continued to reach individuals via case management with 17 enrollees and 3 individuals transitioning out of poverty. Emergency assistance was provided to 132 individuals. The school supply drive "project supply our schools" provided school supplies for low income students in all nacogdoches county public schools.
