The 10 Year, 100,000 Tree Program is an effort to plant 100,000 trees in Nevada by 2032. Green Chips partners with jurisdictions, school districts, utilities, etc. to plant drought tolerant, adaptive species trees on public land in Nevada in communities with low tree equity scores and high heat vulnerability. The goal is to increase tree canopy and environmental justice through better access to green spaces, improved air quality, reduced heat island effect, community investment, and improved mental and physical health outcomes.

Buen Aire Para Todos is the result of an EPA grant in which we are addressing poor air quality through an air quality monitoring program in East Las Vegas. We worked with partners from City of Las Vegas, Desert Research Institute, and Make the Road Nevada to deploy 20 indoor, 20 outdoor, and 20 mobile air quality (pm 2.5) sensors to fill a gap in air quality monitoring in the region and to create citizen scientists while educating LatinX community members about the importance of good air quality. The program also included a monthly air filter deployment component and will culminate in compiled recommendations to the City of Las Vegas regarding community input and data on current conditions and air quality improvement policies.

ConveneNV is Green Chips annual signature event that brings together local, state, regional, and national leaders to celebrate the successes of the past year and address the most critical sustainability challenges of the future. It consists of a VIP Reception the evening prior for speakers, sponsors, and Green Chips trustees to start the conversation via an intimate fireside chat with hig-hlevel speakers. The next day is a half day event of informational and educational panel discussions around three or four important sustainability focus areas. The event culminates in a reception for all attendees to enjoy food and beverage and discuss the topics of the day.
