Mission

The mission of green living science is to transform detroit by teaching about waste and recycling. We are dedicated to increasing awareness of environmental issues & personal responsibility through education.

Curbside Recycling Program: Recycling Workshops: GLS hosts recycling workshops at block club and community group meetings to train Detroit residents living in single family homes or multi-family homes no more than 4 units how to recycle through the city curbside recycling program.

Education: Working in partnership with local schools and teachers, we provide recycling and environmental education. These lessons are aligned with Michigan science standards, and heavily incorporate the different STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) disciplines.

Ambassador Program: The ambassador programs employ Detroiters to assist with attending community events through the city of Detroit to sign up residents for free recycling carts for their homes.
