Land revitalization - the program addresses the urban heat island effect, the phenomenon of intense heat in urban areas caused by a high density of impervious surfaces and a lack of tree canopy. The program also directly addresses the reduction of biodiversity and damage to local ecosystems caused by climate change, and spurs action to reduce flooding brought about by extreme weather events.

General programs include community service programs and projects such as the tree programs. These programs enhance the management of the physical environment by engaing local communities in the efforts of promoting environmental well-being. The programs aim to improve the physical landscape of the city as well as create a sense of social connection within the community.
