Gutierrez Memorial Fund

The Gutierrez Memorial Fund was established in the spring of 2010, to honor the life of artist, visionary and community leader, John K. Gutierrez. The objective of the Gutierrez Memorial Fund was a personal one- the making of the John K. Gutierrez Memorial Fireplace. Gutierrez Studios started the project off by donating the fireplace design. But to make the dream a reality, a substantial budget was necessary for materials, fabrication and installation. On October 23, 2010, we held the first Gutierrez Memorial Walk to raise funds for the construction. We couldnt have asked for a more perfect day. Though many of us on the committee had assumed we would not reach our financial goal in one day the walk was a huge success. Thanks to the amazing generosity of our community and local business sponsors, we proudly reached our goal and the construction process began. Over the winter months, the design, engineering, permitting and fabrication was completed. The fireplace was moved from Gutierrez
