Mission
Hired nurtures purpose and advances economic opportunity for all through career services.
Programs
3 programs
Adult services: hired offers one-to-one coaching and wraparound supports designed to help individuals who have been laid off at no fault of their own (also known as "dislocated workers"), and unemployed and underemployed adults. Through individualized coaching/employment counseling, we support them as they build new skills, obtain educational training and credentials, and re-enter the workforce. We also support them to meet their families' basic needs as they upskill and engage in their job searches. We also operate a program (snap e&t) to support people with nutritional assistance during education/training.
Youth: our youth team provides stabilization support, job coaching, work experiences/internships, career exploration, and more. They support youth and young adults to address barriers to academic and economic success, housing stability, and to meet their basic and educational/work readiness needs. The majority of young people we work with disconnected from school, many are precariously housed, and roughly a third are transitioning from the juvenile justice and/or foster care systems or have had prior system involvement.
Career pathways job training: we prepare low-income jobseekers for positions in high-growth and high-need industries and sectors that offer family-sustaining wages, benefits, and opportunities for career advancement. Our team partners closely with employer partners to inform our training, hire our graduates, and engage in employer panels, mock interviews, and more. We partner with educational institutions and other training providers to provide post-secondary and/or employer-recognized credentials connected to the various pathways, which currently include advanced manufacturing (semiconductor and medical technology), home energy auditing, human services, office administration, and medical call center. We also provide financial wellness training and support.
