Mission

The worldwide habitat for humanity vision: a world where everyone has a decent place to live.

Programs

2 programs

Habitat restores: habitat restores operated four retail locations in bellevue, tukwila, auburn, and ellensburg. The restores served as a community donation and reuse center for new and gently used building materials, home furnishings, and household goods. Through partnerships with manufacturers, contractors, businesses, and individual donors, habitat diverted significant volumes of materials from landfills during fy2025, reducing waste and supporting environmental sustainability. These donated materials were made available to the public at affordable prices, as well as to local nonprofits and affordable housing providers. Revenue generated from restore sales directly supported habitat for humanity's homeownership and community development programs. In addition to four physical stores, habitat utilized online tools, including a donation scheduling system, website, social media, and customer feedback platforms, to increase access to donations and enhance sales volume in support of the mission.

Expenses: $12.0M

Home repair program: our home preservation program is an outreach initiative that seeks to provide a wide range of opportunities for low- to moderate-income homeowners, including veterans and seniors, who are struggling to maintain their homes because of age, disability or family circumstances. We partner with families to help them reclaim their homes with pride and dignity. The program allows families to stay in their home and avoid the uncertainty, trauma and expense of moving. Projects consist of interior and exterior repairs intended to alleviate critical health and safety issues, preserve the structure of the home, and/or address code violations. Habitat staff, volunteers, and subcontractors collaborate to complete the repairs necessary to keep homes safe and secure. Habitat for humanity seattle-king county completed 106 home repairs during fy2025.
