Northern Ocean Habitats ReStore: This is a 15,000-square-foot thrift retail shop located on Route 37 in Toms River. The ReStore provides affordable furniture and home goods for the community, and we accept vouchers from the Ocean County Board of Social Services for purchases. This social enterprise generates a lot of foot traffic and averages 3,200 sales transactions per month, where income supports our build and repair programs. In 2024, the ReStore Facebook Group that posts new inventory daily reached over 11,000 members, and the store diverted 665 tons of material out of landfills.

Critical Home Repair/Preservation Program: This is an initiative that seeks to provide a wide range of critical home repairs and ADA modifications for low-to-moderate income homeowners, including veterans and seniors, who are struggling to maintain their homes because of age, disability, financial or family circumstances. We partner with these homeowners to help them reclaim their homes with pride and dignity. The program allows families to stay in their homes and avoid the uncertainity, trauma, and expense of moving. Projects consist of interior and/or exterior repairs intended to alleviate critical health, life, safety issues, or code violations. Volunteer teams work wlong with subcontractors under the direction of Northern ocean Habitat's staff members to complete the repairs. We have partnered with over 350 local homeowners since the inception of this program.
