Donated items that will be used for the construction of habitat homes are normally only held for a short period and are not material. Accordingly, they are not valued in inventory unless the quantity of such items results in the inventory being carried over until the next construction season. At the time these materials are used in construction, a value is placed on the materials and added to the cost of the home.
