Critical home repair program: the critical home repair program provides urgent and major home repairs to preserve homes for our low-income homeowners that desire to age in place. Hfhwc deeply understands the desire of seniors to live independently and safely in their own homes. Two sub-programs include "aging in place and "veteran build" both ensuring that elderly homeowners in wicomico and somerset counties can enjoy their homes for years to come, with dignity and comfort. Referrals and collaborations with other non-profits, tidalhealth and government offices have been in place for the last 10 years. Eligibility criteria: 1)homeowners residing in wicomico or somerset counties. 2) individuals struggling with critical home repairs that pose a threat to safety and/or health. 3) households meeting income guidelines and demonstrating a financial need and 4) home being repaired must be homeowner occupied.
Restore program: habitat for humanity wicomico operates a habitat for humanity wicomico restore, a retail operation where donated furniture, appliances, building materials, and other miscellaneous items are sold to the community at a greatly reduced price. The restore funds the mission of the organization and provides operating income for the organization plus additional net income for home building and home repair programs.
