Habitat for humanity store: the port townsend habitat store was operated by 87 volunteers who donated 3,948 hours valued at approximately $132,219. The store recycles used furnishings and household goods, keeping items out of landfills and providing a source to the community of high quality, reasonably priced household goods. Habitat homeowner partners earn sweat equity hours and learn retail sales skills. The store is a venue for community members to address the problems of poverty housing, provide information to prospective homeowner applicants and volunteers, and keeps habitat for humanity and affordable housing foremost in the mind of the community.
