Mission

Haigler Community Foundation is a nonprofit public benefit corporation, organized in the state of Nebraska for any lawful purpose allowed under the general corporation code. Haigler Community Foundation shall operate exclusively for educational and charitable purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or the corresponding section of any future Federal tax code. The mission of the Haigler Community Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit charitable foundation is to improve quality of life in Haigler and Dundy County, Nebraska through community service offerings; and to encourage tax deductible donations for continuing operations of the Haigler Museums and Cornerstone Center for Community Service (former closed Haigler School buildings, now a major event center for the area.

2024 events included the following: Tai Chi classes, Sunshine Thrift Bunny Bag Sales; Haigler Tractor Show, Parade, and Rodeo; Dundy Roo Spring Craft Show, Haigler Alumni/Memorial Weekend Events and all museums open; Haigler Welcome Center opening and a Nebraska Wander List Program Site for Tourism; July 4th celebrations and fireworks, a first Arts on the Plains Show involving artists throughout the tri-state area, a Fun Pianos Show , Haigler Summer Music Festival in the Park; Trail of Treasures Garage Sales Across Southern Nebraska; Haigler Fall Tumbleweed Festival, and Holiday Open House, Hayrack rides touring the Village of Haigler holiday lighting , Santa and Elf pictures and visit to the One Room Schoolhouse Museum..

Expenses: $8K

In 2024, a new program was initiated by volunteers in our community for the youth in our community. The Haigler Village Youth Activity Center is housed at the Cornerstone Center for Community Service and meets every Saturday afternoon for program activities. Most all of the expenses for this new program have come through donations.

The Haigler Community Foundation, in cooperation with other community entities and property owners, continues to lead the way for cleanup and demolition of nuisance properties in the village of Haigler. The Haigler Image project continues.

The Haigler Community Foundation worked in partnership with the Nebraska State Historical Society Foundation to purchase museum software programs that will enable us to do museum collection management much more efficiently, take photos of museum collections, track our donors, and much more. All of our museums have grown so much that purchasing museum software became a must do.
