Home outreach program for elders (hope):hope remains a priority for hartley house and a critical source of support for low-income and vulnerable seniors residing hell's kitchen. Hope provides wrap-around case management, formal money management services, benefit assistance and support. These services are necessary for older adults to age safely and with dignity in their own homes. In 2024, hope served approximately 77 clients. In addition, the program began classes back in our building on 46th street. These classes include, bingo, chair yoga, and zumba. Hope now has three full time staff members who are working with all clients and hold a case load averaging 30 clients each.
Community support:hartley house's support to the local community is crucial. Hartley house provides bingo for 30-40 seniors every monday afternoon and yoga each thursday for 25-30 participants. Hartley house also hosted guest speakers and informal socialization for potentially isolated seniors. This year, hartley house also hosted a variety of community events for all ages within the hell's kitchen community. These events included participatory budget meetings, town halls and manhattan community board 4 meetings.
