Promote scientific research & education in hawaii and the pacific rim

Pacific symposium for science and sustainability (ps3) - hawaii academy of science holds symposium for approximately 100 high school students from hawaii and the pacific islands. Ps3 was held on january 13-14, 2024. Students present research paper in a conference setting which are reviewed by adult scientists. Proceedings are published. Top winners are sent to the national comptetition.

Stem coalition - public purpose: to create a resource and portal of all current stem related programs, events, and opportunities that will give choices to students, families, and teachers in the possibility of pursuing a stem related pathway that would benefit the state's workforce development needs. Program summary: the grant in aid to also support members of the stem coalition; members of the stem coalition recognize the need to not only partner for funding purposes but partnering in programmatic areas to increase expansion, decrease costs and reach an even broader group of k-12 students.
