Mission

To promote, perpetuate and educate the local community and youths of hawaii about the ancient art of kendo (japanese fencing). The mission of the hawaii kendo federation is to express the shared values of the ancient and modern, which are exemplified by the seven virtues of bushido (respect, courage, humility, righteousness, benevolence, loyalty and honor), to mold the character of youth to the benefit of the community, country and the world, through the practice of kendo. And by utilizing competitive play in local and international competitions to foster goodwill while preserving the practice and traditions embodied in the katana.
