Agriculture leadership activities the hawkins county farm bureau structure of organizational leadership provides many opportunities for member leaders to keep abreast of issues that affect agriculture. Local board members attend organizational & educational meetings each month. They participate in other local agricultural, civic, & community organizations. Leaders attend district, state & national conferences to network with farmers & other agriculturalists to learn about current issues facing agriculture. A highly developed committee structure provides leadership opportunities for members through meetings, regular communications, and agricultural activities.

Youth leadership development the hawkins county farm bureau supports youth agriculture organizations both financially and with volunteer hours. The hawkins county farm bureau puts on a farm day where elementary school children come and get to visit and tour a working farm. There are exhibits there that show how livestock are taken care of how our food is grown and harvested and what life on a farm is like and the details that go into providing their food and fiber. This is an eyeopening experience for the children to learn how important agriculture is to life and how much agriculture is part of our everyday lives.
