To provide services to the disabled and traumatic brain injury survivors in order to maximize their potential to help them achieve individualization, independence and integration.

Day habilitation program- head injury association provides services to members under new york state office for people with developmental disabilities in the community and a site based group day program setting. This program is designed to help survivors of head injury and individuals with intellectual or physical disabilities recognize their skills and interests. Daily programming consists of structured activity centers including art therapy, horticulture, music/choir, cognitive skills development, information technology, recreation and sports, activities of daily living, preforming arts, culinary, and relaxation techniques such as reiki, yoga, dance therapy, pet therapy etc. During day program each individual is recognized according to his or her own interests, goals and abilities for the purpose of increasing their social, educational and career skills.
Other services -head injury association provides other services in the community to members under new york state office for people with developmental disabilities and department of health waiver funding streams. Community waiver programs include community habilitation, supportive employment, family support, service coordination, community integration counseling, independent living skills training and positive behavioral interventions and support. Service coordination - the service coordinators at the head injury association provide a variety of services to survivors of traumatic brain injury, by working in partnership with the individual to enable him or her to live and participate in the community according to their personal goals, preferences and needs. The community programs provide one-to-one individual, customized support and services to traumatic brain injury survivors and individuals with intellectual disabilities at the location in which they reside. This service takes place in the home, whether they live independently or with family members. The goal of community programs is to develop life management skills as well as community integration. The supports provided are based on individual needs and are person-centered. These services include, but are not limited to household management, financial management, nutritional training, shopping, recreation and self advocacy. The frequency and duration of these services are specific to each individual's needs. Family support grants-head injury association provides family support services as well as independent support services. The goal of family support services is to help families care for their loved one with a developmental disability at home for as long as desired. Providing oversight and financial budgeting for individuals residing independently in the community.
