Headache on the Hill (HOH) Purpose and Activities: Headache on the Hill is a biannual professional development and educational conference for patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers interested in civic engagement. Offered in September 2024 (virtual) and March 2025 (in-person in Washington, DC), HOH provides: -Educational workshops and trainings on topics such as storytelling, social media as an advocacy tool, and preparing for both virtual and in-person meetings with policymakers, and media training. -Community-building activities through affinity groups, fostering peer connections and collective problem-solving. -Wellness programming, including mindfulness sessions, a headache care room at the in-person event, and post-event self-care resources. -Youth-specific programming with art, science, and writing workshops to reduce isolation, build confidence, and introduce advocacy skills. Accomplishments: -156 participants attended the Fall 2024 Virtual HOH. -254 participants attended the Spring 2025 In-Person HOH. -Piloted a youth track with 20 youth participants. -Developed new training modules to strengthen the advocacy community and improve participant readiness for engagement. -Integrated wellness and self-care programming, supporting participants health and resilience. -Supported travel scholarships for low-income participants to attend How it Furthers Exempt Purpose: The program advances the organizations mission by educating and empowering individuals to engage in civic life, fostering a connected patient and caregiver community, and increasing public understanding of headache disorders.

Lunch & Learn Webinar Series Purpose and Activities: The Lunch & Learn program is a virtual education series for patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers, focused on topics like navigating education with headache disorders, understanding the military journey to headache care, and managing access-to-care challenges. Accomplishments: -7 webinars hosted with approximately 900 registrants. -Provided recordings and downloadable resources to extend learning beyond live participants. How it Furthers Exempt Purpose: This program educates the public and patient community, reduces stigma, and equips people living with headache disorders with tools to better manage their condition and engage in civic life.

Youth Programming Purpose and Activities: The Youth Program builds community and reduces isolation for young people living with headache disorders or supporting family members living with these conditions. Programming includes: -Art, science, and writing workshops to help youth understand headache disorders and express their experiences. -Community-building sessions to connect participants with peers and provide a supportive environment for sharing. -Civic education. Accomplishments: -20 youth participants engaged in the Spring 2025 pilot program. -Established a framework for an ongoing youth program integrated with HOH and other educational initiatives. How it Furthers Exempt Purpose: By educating and empowering youth, the program fosters future patient leaders and reduces the stigma and isolation associated with headache disorders.
