Mission
HAC advocates for those who are struggling with addiction and the families of those who struggle. We provide a broad range of services from substance abuse prevention, education, awareness, and treatment. HAC also created Serenity Mesa Recovery Center, a transitional living facility located in Albuquerque, NM.
Programs

Housing - Serenity Mesa provides rental assistance and rapid rehousing using the Housing First approach for people ages 17 to 24 who are experiencing homelessness or are precariously housed. This program began in April of 2021. In November of 2022 Serenity Mesa purchased additional property to provide additional space for the housing program. This includes 4,812 square feet that was put into service in April, 2023 with an additional 2,698 that will be placed into service in the future.
Detox Center - In 2024 Serenity Mesa opened a detox center on campus. The Detox center works with those ages 14 to 20 to provide a safe, comfortable place to stabilize after drug use.
Awareness and Education - gave over 30 presentations throughout NM, reaching over 10,000 people. HAC was the fiscal agent for The Albuquerque Celebrates Recovery and the Recovery Healers Gala events. It is estimated that over 1,500 people attended, numerous agencies participated, including the City of Albuquerque.
