Pharmaceutical services:health west works with local pharmacies through the 340b drug discount program to help get patients medicines at a lower cost. On november 1, 2023 we added six retail pharmacies through acquisition in montpelier, idaho; utah: garden city, north logan, and providence; wyoming: evanston and rock springs. Additionally we opened a retail pharmacy in chubbuck, idaho on november 13, 2023. For the fiscal year ended may 31, 2024, 30,285 prescriptions were filled through the 340b program. In addition, health west offers prescription drug assistance for patients who qualify for free medications directly from the drug manufacturers if the medicine doesn't come in generic form. Behavioral health services:health west provides behavioral health services in designated medically underserved areas. Health west added seven community health center locations through acquisition on november 1, 2023. Currently we have 18 community health centers located in idaho, utah and wyoming in the following towns and cities: idaho: aberdeen, american falls, chubbuck, downey, lava, montpelier, preston and 5 in pocatello; utah: brigham city, garden city, north logan and providence; wyoming: evanston and rock springs. In addition, health west provides behavioral health services in eleven schools in pocatello. During the fiscal year ended may 31, 2024, we served 1,667 patients in 15,912 behavioral health appointments. All services are provided on (continued, see schedule o)
Dental services:health west provides preventive dental services to prevent diseases of the oral cavity and related structures. Services include cleanings, application of sealants, and diagnostic screening for cavities and periodontal disease through the use of dental x-rays. In addition, health west provides basic general dentistry to diagnose and treat disease, injury or impairment of teeth including fillings and single unit crows, non-surgical-endodontic, extractions, and periodontal therapies. We added four additional dental clinics by acquisition on november 1, 2023. Our clinics are located in idaho: pocatello and montpelier; utah: garden city and north logan; and rock springs wyoming. For the fiscal year ended may 31, 2024, we served 4,798 patients in 13,379 dental appointments. All services are provided on a sliding fee scale basis based on income and family size. Discounts are provided for all patients at or below 200% of federal poverty level. Sliding fee and special service fund discounts of $699,323 were provided.
