Since 1986, hc one has worked in 50+ communities across 20+ states, improving maternal health outcomes by lowering c-section rates, increasing breastfeeding, expanding doula access, and creating jobs in local communities. As the first formally recognized community-based doula training program in the u.s., hc one continues to drive national leadership in birth equity and ensure sustainable, community-centered maternal care.

New jersey doula learning collaborative (njdlc):the new jersey doula learning collaborative works to increase the number of trained community-based doulas and strengthen their integration into healthcare systems. This program provides culturally responsive support for pregnant individuals, assists doulas in navigating medicaid reimbursement, and serves as a national model for scaling community doula collaboratives across multiple states.

New jersey other training programs:hc one provides perinatal workforce development and technical assistance across new jersey, including:- perinatal community health worker (pchw) training - certifies individuals as community doulas and breastfeeding peer counselors to enhance maternal and infant health.- project management & technical assistance - supports bipoc-led maternal health initiatives, ensuring sustainable and community-centered programming.

Hc one continues to expand community-based doula and lactation training programs nationwide, improving maternal and infant health outcomes in 50+ communities across 20+ states. Programs include:- roc doula hub - strengthens doula access in finger lakes and healthy baby network regions, connecting doulas with healthcare systems and federally qualified health centers.- doulareadi accreditation project - develops hospital accreditation standards to integrate doulas into maternity care teams.- breastfeeding & lactation equity for first foods access project - dedicated to increasing breastfeeding initiation and duration rates in low-income communities, this initiative expands community-based, peer-to-peer lactation support models, strengthening the maternal-child health workforce while fostering diversity.- breastfeeding & lactation support - expands peer lactation support programs, improving breastfeeding rates and early infant health.
