Workforce strategy: HI is an active participant in the National Forum of State Nursing Workforce Centers. In addition, HI works with California-based organizations and initiatives to improve the pipeline, health, and well-being of nurses.
The General Program of HI includes efforts to prepare RNs for work in specialty areas such as ambulatory and perioperative nursing; educating faculty on the practice of teaching; contributing to health policy issues in California and nationally; and advancing the practice of nursing to care for people living in California.
